Within the framework of the World Migrant and Refugee Day 2019, the Migrants With Rights Network (formed by Cáritas, CONFER- in which the Social Sector of the Company of Jesus is integrated-, Justice and Peace, and the Episcopal Commission of Migration) invited Monsignor Santiago Agrelo, Archbishop Emeritus of Tangier, to give a lecture at the University of Pontificia Comillas.
The words of Monsignor Agrelo resonated with strength and force, especially when he affirmed that “emigrants are the evidence of an unjust and perverse world, marked by institutionalized violence against the poor”, and that “in the dinghy of our life poverty is what is evident. And, so that Jesus Christ is the name of our hope, we only need the help of faith”.
At the lecture he was joined by José Luis Pinilla S.J., director of the Episcopal Commission of Migration, Jesús Miguel Zamora, secretary general of CONFER and Alberto Ares S.J, director of the University Institute of Migration Studies.
