Let’s Open the Door to Peace.

Open the door. Open your arms.

This October 22, we invite you to join the hospitality gesture and share this invitation with your community, organisation or institution.

A gesture to express our commitment to building a culture of welcome, creating spaces for encounter and contributing to peace through our everyday relationships.

Hospitality Day

Hospitality is built every day when we welcome, listen and accompany others, and when we foster relationships based on closeness and respect.

On October 22, Hospitality Day, Jesuit networks around the world come together to celebrate and renew our commitment to hospitality and peace.

Father General Arturo Sosa SJ invites us to open our hearts, our doors and our institutions, making hospitality a way of life and a way of relating to one another every day.

Stories of Hospitality

Behind every act of welcome are people, encounters and stories that remind us of the value of hospitality. Below, we share the voices and experiences of some of the people who make it possible every day.

Olena

“For me, hospitality means finding a place where I can feel safe, useful, and at home again.”

Hamza

“For me,“walking together means creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and safe, no matter where they come from. These experiences matter today because they show that welcoming communities are possible, and that kindness can inspire others to show kindness in the future, just as it did for me.”

Hadia

“Even a simple smile and a cup of tea can change someone’s mood. These moments matter because they create trust, dignity, and a sense of belonging.”

Maja

“Walking together means ensuring that no one has to navigate a new system alone. Guidance and encouragement can open doors to belonging and opportunity.”

Yahia Al Yasin

“Kosovo gave me safety, dignity, and the feeling that I was not alone after everything I went through.”

Valentyna

“War, displacement, and crisis can happen to anyone. The way we treat people during difficult moments defines what kind of society we are building.”
