Thousands of people walk for hospitality

The Paths of Hospitality initiative has brought together more than a thousand people in different parts of Spain and Europe during the past month of June. Under the slogan ‘Hope is the way’, we have called for a society of welcome and peace, based on respect for human rights and the protection of people who are forced to migrate.

Spain

In Spain, hundreds of people have gone out to walk for welcome and inclusion, in spaces of intercultural encounter. In Loyola (Basque Country), Gran Canaria, Madrid and Vigo, activities have been carried out by the works of the Jesuit social sector that accompany migrants and refugees, as well as other areas of the sector, and entities allied in just causes.

Europe

At the European level, thanks to the impulse of JRS Europe, two special events were held: a Jesuit community retreat focused on hospitality in Namur, Belgium; and an event with educational communities from different countries, both educators and students, in the framework of the Change project in Brussels.

The Pathways of Hospitality activities will continue until the end of the year in different parts of the world.
